My Interests
- Dancing
Dancing is one of my favorite activities, as well as the way that I
met my wife Tami. I am primarily
involved
with various types of folk dance now. I was former member of a
performing
International dance troupe Narodno! International
Dancers and enjoy dancing out on Library Mall with Madison
Folkdance Unlimited.
Make sure you set aside the weekend of January 22-24, 2010
for the Folk Ball .
I also make it to a lot of the Contra
dances, and have been learning and doing more Swing Dancing and Cajon
dancing.
Check out the Isthmus
guide for what is happening in the Madison area in the
next couple of days.
Of course Music is required for dancing and to nurish the spirit. Check
out The Reptile Palace Orchestra,
a wild Balkan Funk band, Yid Vicious for contemporary Klezmer, The
Cajun Strangers for great bayou beats, and The
Madison Folk Music Society for concerts and other folk related
events
coming up. - I have a wonderfully smart and frisky dog. (see picture
gallery)
Tess is an Austrailian Shepherd. She has
now retired from Agility competition and the flyball team. - Gardening
My property is being encroached upon by the development of another
business "park", but I still maintain a large garden where a lot of my
food is grown. It in conjunction with all the perennial, annual,
and wildflower beds and fruits and berries, takes up much of my time
that I am not working during the growing season. I now work for
the Russell Labs building which holds the Entomology , Plant
Pathology , and Forestry &Wildlife Departments of the
University of Wisconsin is where I make a living
plying my knowledge. - Bicycling
One of my main forms of transportation when there is no ice on the
road. I do not seem to have enough free time to do as much pleasure
riding
as I used to but check out the Bicycle
Federation of Wisconsin - Cross Country Skiing
I rarely get to do this now that I live so far south, but check the Madnordski
Skiing Page for current conditions and favorite locations.
