Folkball 2010

Held every January in the UW Memorial Union in Madison, Wisconsin

Folk Ball is the best way to chase away the winter blahs!
Set aside January 22-24, 2010 for another wonderful Folk Ball weekend full of workshops and dance parties.

  • International dance party in the Great Hall with live music by CAJUN STRANGERS ~  DO ZORE ~ YID VICIOUS 
  • Contra Dance in Tripp Commons with live music by Amy, Maria, & friends. Roger Diggle calling
  • Hungarian dance party in the Beefeaters room with live music by SZASKA

FOLK DANCE CLASSES with

Erik Bendix teaching dances from Greece and Bulgaria
Daniel Sandu teaching Romanian dances
Šani Rifati teaching Balkan Romany (Gypsy) dances
Jay Singh teaching Bhangra (party dancing from northern India)

International dance party in the Great Hall. Live music by:

Veseliyka (Village style Bulgarian from Madison)

Orkestar Sloboda (Serbian and other international from Milwaukee)

Reptile Palace Orchestra (Balkan lounge funk from Madison)
