Web Services for LAN Users
Everyone with an account
on the Linden LAN automatically has access to web publishing
without making any changes to their computer configuration.
To add this access to your account, contact us.
Once we have "activated" your web publishing,
you will see a Public.www folder in your home folder. The
contents of this folder are made available to the internet
for browsing by either FTP or HTTP programs. The URL for
this folder (H:\Public.www) is
http://plantpath.wisc.edu/~<your
login ID>
- Notes:
- T yped as is, by default it will open
the file index.htm in your Public.www folder
- The "~" is called
a tilde (till-duh)
- Replace <your login ID> with
your login ID (for example, http://plantpath.wisc.edu/~ppuser)
- The locations: plantpath.wisc.edu,
nutrisci.wisc.edu, and entomology.wisc.edu are equivalent
on the PEN web server
