The Purchasing Office is very interested in receiving your input on
how well these contracts serve you, including any feedback in
pricing or service concerns. If you have specific examples, please
send them to dcharkowski@bussvc.wisc.edu.

Information on contract rules:

The contract for computer peripherals is a mandatory state contract
issued by the Department of Administration, State Bureau of Procurement.
This contract does not include computers/systems, networking equipment
or servers. The DoIT Tech Store and MDS/Dell are still options to be
used as usual. There is no change there.

If you obtain pricing quotes from other vendors and find that their
pricing is better than the contract vendors, please forward copies of
the quotes or a summary of the pricing to me. I've very interested in
getting examples of pricing issues with the current contract. We don't
want the University to be paying more money for items simply because of
a contract, so if you do get more advantageous pricing elsewhere, you
can feel comfortable in proceeding with that purchase. I would ask, in
all fairness to the contracted vendors, to please make those contacts
and get pricing and give them an opportunity to submit quotes to you.
That's why I'm asking for the help of folks out in the departments in
providing their pricing experiences with me. If we hope to build in
more flexibility in some of these mandatory contracts, we'll be needing
some good data, collected from our end-users.
